"Kriti
Ensemble’s" visit to China |

Kriti
Ensemble, renowned classical music group of Agra and only group
represented India in the Olympic of music at Beijing, China on the
occasion of 29th ISME World conference on music education from 1st
August’10 to 6th August’10. More than 700 performers and 1000
delegates participated in this musical arena with their mesmerizing
presentations from all over the globe. |

Kriti
Ensemble’ was the only foreign group among the 12 groups, who had
their presentations during the inauguration ceremony on 1st August’10
at China National Convention Centre . The other remaining groups were
from different provinces of China. On 2nd August’10, the members
of Kriti Ensemble performed at the China conservatorium of Music near
Central Beijing, where about 1000 students, faculty and music lovers
were present. On 3rd August’10, the group went to a beautiful nearby
city called TIANJIN, where they performed at Tianjin City Concert Hall,
one of the best concert venues in China. Prof. Lovely Sharma ( Sitarist
& director of Kriti Ensemble)and Debasis Chakroborty(Classical
guitarist & Asst. director of Kriti Ensemble) performed their solo
recitals before group presentations. The concert continued for more than
two hours. Prof. Lovely Sharma delivered a lecture cum
demonstration before the students of music school under the cultural
wing of Embassy of India in China where students asked various questions
related to Indian music and means and ways to promote our music in
abroad. On 5th August’10, the group performed at CNCC function Hall
“A” at 1:00 PM before a huge gathering of musical fraternity. |

Before
their departure, the members of Kriti Ensemble visited some renowned
universities, institutions of Beijing along with a tour of major
attractions of China like the Great wall of China, Summer Palace,
Forbidden City etc. Prof.
Lovely Sharma, renowned Sitarist of Dayalbagh Deemed University, Agra,
described her experience of this tour as a very “Great Achievement”.
Three members of this group namely Shri Debasis Chakraborty, Devashish
Ganguly & Vilas Palkhe, are from Mangalayatan University, Aligarh.
The fifth member of this group, Shantanu Ghorai, is from IBM, Hydrabad. The group members were overwhelmed by the enthusiastic reception given to them by the other members of Kriti Kala Sansthan and music lovers at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi, when they came back a few days ago. |
